If you access the Internet via proxy servers, Proxy Switcher Standard not only finds the fastest ones but manages your proxy settings as well. On first start-up, it downloads lists of proxies from a few specialized sites (in our tests, it found more than 1,000). It then automatically tests the servers to filter out ones that are slow or malfunctioning. From there, you just click a button to start routing your traffic through the server of your choice. The program can also automatically switch among proxies, though unfortunately the trial version disables this crucial feature. That shortcoming aside, Proxy Switcher Standard is one of the most convenient proxy utilities we've seen.
